TELEVISION
"Sarah Palin's Alaska" premiered this last Sunday on TLC. The show follows Palin in her home state while she explores the great outdoors, fishing, hunting and various other rugged activities. The show is unlike most reality shows and does not include many family dynamics. Palin keeps political speak to a minimum and focuses purely on "being herself."
FILM
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" will be released at 12:01 a.m. this Friday. Movie theaters have been sold out for over a month and AMC Framingham 16 is showing the film in six different theaters. The last book in the "Harry Potter" series, by J.K. Rowling, has been split up into two films, the second to be released in July 2011. Part 1 was set to be released last summer, but was postponed to now; it was rumored that the producers did not want to release the film close to the release of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" which came out in late June. When the final film is released next summer, the series will have been in the cinematic world for an entire decade.
MUSIC
Having been away from the music scene for quite some time now, Britney Spears is rumored to be working on a new single set to be released in early 2011. Her producer says it will rival all her past singles but could comment no further. The once-troubled pop queen has only been producing one or two singles a year so a new single is predicted soon.
