Obama proposes overhaul in education law

The Obama administration called for a broad overhaul of the No Child Left Behind Act by replacing the pass-fail school grading system with one that would measure individual students’ academic growth and judge schools based not just on test scores, but also on other indicators such as the school administration’s effectiveness in closing the achievement gap.
