Dancers showcase talent in re(FORM) the beat

Winnie Lee '13 gracefully engages the audience as she performs in “Gypsy Impromptu”, a performance with a distinct Asian-influenced style of choreography.

The coming together of AscenDance, an organization solely devoted to the art of ballet, and Dance Collective, an organization devoted to all different levels of modern dance, created a unique fusion: Re(form) the Beat. The focus of the showcase was a blending of classical ballet and contemporary dance most evident in the three-act performance “Rhapsody for the Undead.” The piece stood out clearly from the preceding acts because of the dynamic energy and unexpected change from soft, graceful movements to powerful, assertive movements that captured the audience’s attention.
